Windiff.exe

Thanks to James Shaw of Dozing Dogs I now know of a tool called WinDiff. James has been cranking out releases and even though he lists the file changes made, sometimes when a change is made to a style sheet or the web.config file I’ve struggled to pin point the exact change that was made. Enter Windiff – the tool helps you check the differences between files or folders and displays the differences graphically. In his own words ‘Very Cool’.

As always, toolname/ help from the command prompt provides you with a quick overview of the syntax of the command and it’s basic function. This tool along with many others is available for download at the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Support Tools
