Microsoft File Transfer Manager (FTM) is a client-side application whose purpose is to provide secure and guaranteed delivery when downloading or uploading large files over the internet. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had to use FTM quite extensively primarily because of all the Vista/ Office downloads from Connect and MSDN.
One of the limitations of FTM is that it didn’t appear as an application that I could launch directly. If you find yourself in a similar situation where you just need to re-launch FTM, try the following method:
- Click on Start
- Click on Run
- Type cmd
- Type cd %SystemRoot%\Downloaded Program Files\
- Type TransferMgr.exe and press Enter
