Sound Issues with Windows 7 on Macbook

I recently installed Windows 7 on my Macbook (Identified as Macbook 3,1 using dxdiag) and so far have been enjoying the experience. One of the only driver related issues I encountered was related to the lack of recent Realtek sound drivers on the Windows 7 install DVD. This was easily resolved by downloading the latest Realtek sound driver for Windows Vista. If you’re in a similar situation follow the instructions below to download drivers for your Macbook:

  1. Go to http://www.realtek.com/downloads/
  2. On the left hand side, click on Computer Peripheral ICs
  3. Click on PC Audio Codecs
  4. Click on High Definition Audio Codecs
  5. Click on Software
  6. Agree to Terms of Download and click Next
  7. Download and run Vista Driver(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file)

The above instructions comes with the standard WOMM (Works on My Machine) warning.
