I recently installed Windows 7 on my Macbook (Identified as Macbook 3,1 using dxdiag) and so far have been enjoying the experience. One of the only driver related issues I encountered was related to the lack of recent Realtek sound drivers on the Windows 7 install DVD. This was easily resolved by downloading the latest Realtek sound driver for Windows Vista. If you’re in a similar situation follow the instructions below to download drivers for your Macbook:
- Go to http://www.realtek.com/downloads/
- On the left hand side, click on Computer Peripheral ICs
- Click on PC Audio Codecs
- Click on High Definition Audio Codecs
- Click on Software
- Agree to Terms of Download and click Next
- Download and run Vista Driver(32/64 bits) Driver only (Executable file)
The above instructions comes with the standard WOMM (Works on My Machine) warning.
