If you run into the following error message “Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments:”, chances are you were trying to open an attachment that needs to be explicitly added using the following steps:
1) Open Regedit
2)Â Depending on the version of Outlook that you have installed, you may end up with a slightly different string hierachy, but try and locate the Outlook Security folder. On my workstation this was located at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\14.0\Outlook\Sec
2) Create a new String Value called Level1Remove
3) Add the list of file attachments that you would like to permit in Outlook. For example add mdb;temx;
4) Click OK
5) Try opening the attachment in Outlook again
